The Delphic Games 2009 on Jeju
In Tune with the Island of Peace
In 2009, the Korean island of Jeju — a UNESCO World Heritage site and symbol of peace — hosted the largest Delphic Games to date. Under the theme “In Tune with Nature”, over 700 artists from 54 nations gathered to celebrate creativity, cultural exchange, and unity. Through music, dance, visual arts and a powerful water ritual blending Delphi and Jeju, the Games became a living symbol of harmony between people, nature and tradition. Learn more …
The First Junior Delphic Games 1997
A Dreaming Day in Tbilisi
In 1997, in a time of post-Soviet uncertainty and regional tension, the first Junior Delphic Games in Tbilisi brought together over 1,700 young artists from 16 countries. Under the patronage of Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and with greetings from Yehudi Menuhin, these Games became a landmark of cultural unity. Opening of the DELPHIC ART WALL exhibition
On August 11, 2020 the International Delphic Council e.V. and SprachCafé Polnisch e.V. invite you to the DELPHIC ART WALL – Exhibition in the Castle Schoenhausen. The Berlin State Secretary for Europe, Gerry WOOP, will open the exhibition at 6:00 pm.
The art initiative started three years ago at the Federal Academy for Security Policy, near to the Castle Schoenhausen. “Discover your own culture and cultivate cultural exchange” – this is one of the most important prerequisites for a united Europe, emphasized Dr. Klaus Lederer, Berlin Senator for Culture and Europe and patron of the DELPHIC ART WALL, in his speech. The art pedagogue Daniel Schmöcker took over the project management.
The DELPHIC ART WALL – a colorful ribbon that unites Europe. Students designed impressive banners in workshops and made their wishes and dreams of a common Europe visible. The screens (1,18 x 1,80 m) can be connected with each other and digitally linked with video sequences. More at: www.delphicartwall.eu

Art, culture and education are the most significant proof for identity, creativity and development. They are expression of contemporary creation. Art is able to build bridges between cultures and nations and can contribute to a peaceful living together. Art and culture inspire and promote the awareness for ones own existence. They help to answer the questions: Who am I, where do I come from and where to go? These questions about ones own identity, to find the future way in a globalised world becomes increasingly important.
Delphic Games
The Delphic Games were held parallel to Olympic Games in ancient Greece and celebrated one year prior to the Olympic Games for about 1000 years – until both games were banned as heathen Games 394 BC.The Olympic Games for sport revived with the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) 1894 in Paris – 1500 years after the ban The Delphic Games for arts and culture revived with the founding of the International Delphic Council (IDC) 1994 in Berlin – 1600 years after the ban.
Delphic Art Wall
A unique platform to get School Children from around the world to present their artistic expressions on canvas on what they perceive Arts and Cultures to be, in an ambience designed to be fun.
The wall will make its presence at the next Delphic Games, the worlds only common ground for Competitions, Presentations & Exhibitions in 6 Arts Categories and numerous sub-disciplines, with origins in ancient Greece 2500 years ago and revived in the Modern Era.
Delphic Art Categories & Disciplines
Part of the Delphic Games identity includes six Delphic Art Categories, with different traditional and contemporary Art Disciplines in a mix and cross-over.
